Happy Halloween

We took our second annual family trip to the pumpkin patch. I love family traditions. This trip was so very different from last year. Last year, Savannah was only 8 weeks, and she slept the entire time we were at the pumpkin patch. I was able to place her gently on the grass and position her just right, so that I could take about 100 pictures.

This year it was like trying to photograph a moving target. Everyone had a great time. It is so fulfilling to see Savannah discover something new. Today at the pumpkin patch her new discovery was hay. She loved picking up the hay and throwing it in the air. She liked the hay more than the pumpkins.

Savannah is walking now, and she is so proud of herself.

13 Months

This month Savannah hunkered down for her first hurricane, IKE. The entire family slept under the stairs. Savannah woke up about 3am and thought it was time to play since we were having a slumber party in the Harry Potter closet under the stairs. We did not have any major damage from the storm, but we were out of power for four days. In the aftermath of IKE Savannah enjoyed her week at home.

She played with Teva. I believe Teva wished we were at work.

Savannah loves Oreo cookies!!

1 Year Old!!!!

Savannah turned one year old on August 31. I am late updating her blog because I have had a difficult time sorting through the 500 pictures from her birthday party. The birthday party was a success. My mom hosted at her house, and we had a great turn-out of family and friends. Savannah was a little overwhelmed with the paparazzi. She was totally not into the cake. She would hardly touch the cake and would not eat it. She did enjoy her presents. The wrapping paper was the best part!!

Wow, my baby is 1. It is truly amazing the number of changes that occur during a baby's first year of life. I cannot wait to see what this next year has in store.

Savannah has a great smile. When she smiles, it looks like she uses all of her face muscles, and she proudly displays all of her eight teeth. I wonder if her checks are sore at the end of the day?

10 Month Update

Savannah is 10 months old and loves getting into mischief. One example is this table, Terence and I used to keep some of our current reading material on this table, but not any more. Maybe, we should encourage her since she loves books and she likes reading (aka tearing out the pages and eating the paper).

There have been a lot of changes recently such as Savannah hates the swing. I even bought these cool toys to go on the tray of the swing to encourage her to sit in the swing. Therefore, I could take my eyes off of her for one minute, but no she does not want to be confined. Two more things that she hates are diaper changes and the car seat. I am counting the days until I can turn her car seat around. I am hopeful that this will help with the loathing of the car seat.

JELLO!!

Savannah loves Jello!! We had Jello for dessert one night, and oh my, Savannah was red from head to toe. Two baths later and her skin was still stained. Note to self for second child - Do not give baby red Jello and let her feed herself.

This month Terence celebrated his first Father’s Day. The day was very special. We dedicated Savannah to the church. Terence’s parents came in town for the dedication. The bible verses that we choose for Savannah are Philippians 1:9-11.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.

It was really neat because there were six babies being dedicated on Father’s day, and they were all from our Sunday School Class. We are a productive bunch!!

Here is the gift that Savannah made Terence at daycare.

Savannah had more visitors after Maw and Papa left. My mom came for a visit and some of our friends from UT.

Savannah’s pool days are over for while. She has to get tubes put in her ears in a few weeks. So no more skinny dipping until then.

9 Month Update

Yesterday, I took Savannah for her 9 Month check-up, and she is a healthy baby weighing in at 20 lbs and measuring 27 ½ inches in length. This puts Savannah in the 75th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height. Savannah is in the process of cutting two new teeth for a grand total of four (two on bottom and two on top).

One of Savannah's new beloved pastimes is looking in the mirror at herself. She is such a diva!!

Savannah is pulling up on everything. She is so proud of herself when she is vertical.

Last weekend, we took Savannah to the beach for the first time. We went with our Sunday School Class, and we had a great time. Savannah liked the beach and ocean. Her favorite thing to do at the beach is to eat sand. As soon as, I put her down she immediately grabbed a handful of sand and put it in her mouth!!! She was covered in sand from head to toe.

Yum Yum Sand!!

When we were finished playing at the beach we went to see a sand castle building contest. The entries were very impressive. Here are some pictures of my favorites.
